Thermal Cities in the Greater Region

While the European Parliament adopted in 2008 a resolution inviting the European Commission and the Member States to « recognise and encourage the positive impact of water cures... » as part of the European Health strategy, a number of European cities were already making efforts to protect the European thermal heritage.

Grouped in the association EHTTA – European Historical Thermal Town Association together, thoses cities published the book <i>Thermae Europae</i> below. They are actually working at the creation of a cultural route for thermal cities.

This future route will without a doubt go through the Greater Region which has a lot of spas: Mondorf-les-Bains, Spa, Vittel are some of the thermal cities of the cross-border region.

Mondorf-les-Bains

In the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg, the city of Mondorf-les-Bains became a spa in the XIX° century. Located near the French and German borders, the thermal city of Mondorf-les-Bains is nowadays regard as a famous international tourist pole.
